The international scientific summer school on the basis of SumDU and SNAU has successfully completed

From July 16 to 27, 2018, an international scientific summer school for students of three universities was held: Sumy State, Sumy National Agrarian Universities and the Czech University of Natural Sciences, Prague. The event took place within the framework of the implementation of the joint project “Strengthening the Capacity Building Capacity in the Area of ​​Quality of Education and Research in SSU and SNAU” for the financing of the Development Cooperation Agency of the Czech Republic. The coordinator of the project from the Ukrainian side was Associate Professor of Sumy State University, Ph.D. in Economics Oksana Mikhailovna Zamora.

The scientific summer school on the theme “Agro-cooperatives and institutions of rural development” was conducted in English and aimed at improving students’ competencies in the field of research, including the writing of scientific work and the presentation of scientific results, as well as the cultural exchange between Ukraine and the Czech Republic.

The school lasted for two weeks, during which the participants listened to interactive sessions, specialized lectures on agro-business development in different countries of the world, and conducted field research in local agricultural cooperatives for the purpose of data collection. Students and Czech colleagues visited six co-operatives of the Sumy region of various directions, where they became familiar with the peculiarities of their functioning, interviewed representatives of cooperatives and local community.

According to the results of scientific work in the framework of summer school, the best team received a grant to deepen the study with the aim of further publication in the international scientific publication.
