Young scientists in BiEM have a high level of research competences, which allows forming interdisciplinary teams to work on the implementation of state-budget research projects, self-financing scientific research commissioned by businesses and local governments, organization and holding of scientific conferences and internships, etc.

Systematic work with the participation of scientists allows to actively prepare and submit research projects to competitions held by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the National Research Fund of Ukraine. The scientific projects submitted by the employees constantly occupy leading positions in the all-Ukrainian ranking of projects on economic topics: in 2022 – 1st place, in 2021 – 1st and 3rd places; 2019 – 3rd place, in 2018 – 1st place – 2 projects; in 2017 – 1st, 2nd and 3rd places – 1 project each; in 2016, three projects were included in the top 10 best economic projects in Ukraine. According to the results of 2021, students received 42 prizes at the All-Ukrainian competitions of student scientific works. In 2022, by decision of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the competition was not held.

One of the basic strategic priorities of the development of BiEM  is to obtain world-class results that correspond to modern directions of social sciences. To increase the level of publication of the results of their scientific research, scientists of the institute annually publish more than 120 scientific works in publications that are indexed by the Scopus and/or WoS databases, including those included in Q1 and Q2.

In 2021, almost 53% of full-time stff have at least five scientific publications in publications indexed by Scopus and/or WoS databases 93% of full-time stff have a non-zero Hirsch index. BiEM is the founder of 7 periodical scientific journals, of which 4 are in English, the scientific journal “Marketing and Management of Innovations” has been indexed by the WoS database since 2015, all journals implement an open access policy. Editorial boards of journals systematically implement measures to ensure compliance of editorial policies of scientific journals with international standards of leading scientometric databases, principles of academic integrity, development of these journals in accordance with best global practices and international publishing standards. The implementation of such a policy contributes to the halving of the citation rate of journals in various databases.
