In Odessa, on June 25-27, 2019 Tesol – Ukraine Teacher Development Summer Institute “Critical Thinking for Media Literacy” took place, which was attended by teacher trainee of the Department of Foreign Languages ERI BT “UAB” Anna Reshytko.
Tesol – Ukraine Teacher Development Summer Institute “Critical Thinking for Media Literacy”, under the support of Regional English Language Office, U.S. Embassy, Ukraine, gathered 50 professionals from all regions of Ukraine.
The participants represented secondary schools, universities, and private educational establishments. The sessions were delivered by English Language Fellows Wendy Finlayson and TEFL Peace Corps Volunteers Ashly Emerson, Todd Emile Gable Jr. and Shaun Hicks, Serhii Petrenko – TESOL-Ukraine newsletter editor. They trained the participants on The Ways of Analyzing Media, lectured on Gender and Diversity in Media, and gave ideas for Implementing Media Literacy in the Classroom.
