Round Table “Ukrainian Customs in the conditions of Ukraine’s accession to the European Union”

On March 29, 2024, team member of the EU Erasmus+ program project on the topic ” Implementation of European Union mechanisms for combating modern challenges and threats ” (101085700 – IMEU – ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEITCH-RSCH) PhD of economics, assoc. prof., associate professor of international economic relations department Marуna Domashenko a and students of groups Me-01a, Me-02a.an, MEВ-21, MEВ-31 majoring in international economic relations and groups T-21, T-21-3 majoring in tourism business and hospitality industry took part in the Round Table “Ukrainian Customs in the conditions of Ukraine’s accession to the European Union”.

The organizer of the event is the NGO “Institute of Economic Research and Political Consultations” (IED).

SPEAKERS OF THE EVENT:

Vladyslav SUVOROV, Deputy Head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine.

Oleksandr MOSKALENKO, Director of the Department of Customs Policy Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.

Oksana KUZYAKIV, executive director of IED, head of the Center for Contemporary Society Research – moderator of the event.

Also, among the speakers, representatives of state authorities, business circles and experts were invited to participate.

During the event, IED experts presented the main provisions of the advisory work “The Future of Ukrainian Customs in the Conditions of Ukraine’s Accession to the EU”. An open discussion was also held.

THE DISCUSSION COVERED THE FOLLOWING TOPICS:

– the experience of European countries in reforming customs on the way to integration with the EU;

– obstacles in the customs sphere/anticipated reforms;

– achievements of Ukrainian customs on the way to integration with the EU;

– challenges in reforming Ukrainian customs, unresolved problems and ways to solve them;

– the vision of future changes or what Ukrainian customs will be in the conditions of Ukraine’s accession to the EU? How to reach the final destination as efficiently as possible?
