On the 25th of October in the Sport hall of the Academy an unusual championship for Sumy – the Sumo Ukrainian Cup among adult took place. Competitions gathered the strongest athletes of Ukraine – champions of the World Games, winners of the Sumo World and Europe Championships.
Almost 200 participants of 15 Ukrainian teams competed for the Cup.
Student of the Academy D. Borysov won all his rivals and became a champion in 70 class.

In general, citizens of Sumy gained quite a few medals. Te champions are D. Borysov (70 kg) and S. Levenok (100 kg), who became the 3rd at absolute class. The 2nd places gained S. Khekalo (70 kg) and V. V”yun who became the 2nd at absolute class. Except them, I. Obrezanov (92 kg), K. Mandeharian (115 kg) and M. Moroz are holders of the 2nd places. In team competitions Sumy team has the 2nd place.
