The Department of Economic Cybernetics summarized the results of selecting the works for the International competition of student research papers “New Economics Talent 2014” conducted by the Center for Economic Research and Higher Education (CERGE-EI, Prague, Czech Republic).
Under the direction of Professor of the Department of Economic Cybernetics Olga Kozmenko and Assistant Professor Olga Kuzmenko second-year students were selected for the competition.
According to Professor O. Kozmenko, one of the features of this competition is the fact that students need a high level of knowledge in econometrics and economic- mathematical modeling. In addition, all works have to be written in English only. It is encouraging that so many of our students’ works meet all the criteria.
Associate Professor Olga Kuzmenko talked about the students’ topics: “Students demonstrated a creative approach to the selection of topics. We have read their papers on the modeling of tourism flows, or, for example, the study of the dynamics in the production of meat, poultry, milk and cereals. A considerable part of the research was devoted to the models and brands of cars, which are in demand both in Ukraine and in the Czech Republic”.
