Description

This course provides an overview of the cultural diversity, traditions, economy and population of Ukraine, as well as introduction to basic concepts of intercultural communication concepts and approaches.

The course is aimed to increase students’ intercultural communication competences, to enrich their understanding of the concept of culture, and how culture influences the way that individuals behave and to deeper their knowledge about how culture shapes management practices in international organizations

Learning outcomes

  • Know the dimensions which influence Ukrainian culture, its main features
  • Be able to identify and value cultural differences and critically reflect upon students’ own cultural values compared to those of others 
  • Understand the way culture influences individual attitude, behaviors and decision making strategies
  • Be able to manage interactions in intercultural groups and leadership situations
