About the course
The purpose is to provide knowledge of methods of estimating dependency parameters that characterize quantitative relationships between economic variables.
Tasks of discipline:
Studying the basic principles and tools of problem setting, construction of econometric and optimization economic-mathematical models, methods of solving them and analyzing them for use in economy.
As a result of studying the discipline the graduate student should:
KNOW:
- basic principles and techniques of mathematical modeling, econometric methods needed to test and identify new empirical dependencies, to build a reliable forecast;
- principles of quantitative analysis of economic processes;
- principles of empirical deduction of economic dependencies;
- the extent and nature of the impact of individual factors on economic performance.
BE ABLE TO:
- create econometric models using application software packages to explain the behavior of the studied economic processes,
- evaluate the parameters of econometric models in order to explain the behavior of the studied economic processes;
- carry out a comprehensive analysis of the results of process optimization in the activity of economic entities;
- test hypotheses about the properties of economic indicators for making informed economic decisions;
- development of current and prospective plans and programs of activities of economic entitiesя.
Place of discipline in the educational process
The discipline “Econometrics and Business Analytics” is a discipline that provides on-going professional competencies and belongs to the obligatory block of disciplines for the preparation of graduate students.
Her study is based on mastering a block of disciplines of economic theory and disciplines “Economic-mathematical methods and models: optimization methods and models”, “Economic-myco-mathematical methods and models: econometrics”, “Applied econometrics”, “Mathematical software software: mathematical analysis “,” Mathematical software: system analysis “,” Forecasting socio-economic processes “.
