ABOUT FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AND INTERVIEWS WITH DELOITTE SPECIALIST

On April 15, 2020, an online meeting was organized for students of the Department of Finance and Entrepreneurship with a specialist of one of the largest audit companies in the world – a graduate of our department, and now a tax advisor from Deloitte (“Deloitte”), Andrey Zhuravel.

During the meeting, the issues of preparation of financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) were discussed, why and how companies should prepare relevant reports, why financial reporting is important for taxes and what they do in Deloitte 🙂 Students from our department of different years of studies participated in the meeting and all had the opportunity to ask questions.

As a result, students gained first-hand knowledge not only of financial reporting, but also of the possibility of employment at Deloitte, how interviews are conducted and how to go through a simplified selection process (read on and learn;)).

This year is special for Deloitte, because in 2020, the company is celebrating 175 years since its founding. In 1845, William Welsh Deloitte opened a small accounting firm on Basinghall Street in London, and today Deloitte is a business with a staff of 312,000 employees in 150 countries and with a history of 175 years.

The students also asked Mr. Andrew if it was difficult to get into such a company and how he was interviewed. It turned out that while he was a student Andrei took part in a competition for the decision of the case from the Deloitte company, according to the results of which he was invited to an interview in a simplified version and immediately received an offer of employment from the company.

The department thanks Andrew for the time devoted to our students and wishes further career achievements.

And to anyone who is interested in the cases in question, we advise you to follow our news and CASERS case-community, which website just uploads cases from Deloitte annually, as well as from other companies: https://casers.org/cases / tax-your-brains-your-tax-reform-for-ukrainian-it

The meeting was held within the framework of studying the discipline “Reporting of Enterprises” on the invitation of the senior lecturer of the department, Yu.M. Shkodkina.
