Students financiers of the F-51 by the fall semester 2016/2017 academic year took part in the passage of the online course “Basics of taxation in Ukraine” in Ukrainian educational online platform «Prometheus». The course took place at the same time university study program module “Taxation of enterprises’ (lecturer is Associate Professor Zaitsev O.V.). Almost all of the students successfully completed the online course and received a certificate from “Фінансистент ТОВ”. It gave positive results. Final certification of discipline “Taxation of enterprises” has shown good results of students’ knowledge in the field of taxation.
«Prometheus» – український громадс«Prometheus» is Ukrainian public project massive open online course. The main goal is to provide free online access to university-level courses to all comers, and providing opportunities to publish and distribute such courses for leading teachers, universities and companies.
There is a stereotype that education is something very conservative, something that does not change for centuries. But, in fact, is education, perhaps, is the most dynamic and innovative sector of society. Now education is changing that missing for more than 500 years. Today we are witnessing a process where education is available free to all comers. In the online space appeared open online courses. This new phenomenon in education. So, in the fall of 2011 Stanford University (USA) launched the first massive online courses, which gathered a huge audience. Some of them exceeded 160 000 listeners. And from that moment the growth of massive open online course as the format is extremely fast. In the same 2011 was created “Coursera”, was established in 2012 “edX”, is this was a year of open online courses, according to The New York Times. Already in 2013, was created by Ukrainian educational online platform “Prometheus”.
According to teacher Oleksandr Zaitsev student participation in the project «Prometheus» in parallel with the study of the same or similar in program modules significantly improves the quality of education and provides students with professional skills improvement.
