May 14, 2021 there was an educational and informational event “EU Career Day” at the Information Center of the European Union operating in Sumy State University. It was attended by more than 300 pupils and students of Sumy
EU Career Day is a series of public events where representatives of EU Networks and all active and interested citizens can share their views, experiences on the implementation of EU standards and practices in Ukraine, participation in EU programs to develop new business and educational opportunities, discuss trends in the labor market, in particular regarding the knowledge and skills that a young person needs for successful career
The event takes place this year in more than 15 cities of Ukraine.
During the EU Career Day in Sumy, the guests found out about the dissemination of the principles and approaches of the European Union in the fields of youth employment, lifelong learning, and the priorities of social and economic development of the EU; the best practices of interaction of higher educational institutions with employers to forecast the needs for knowledge and skills. They also discussed current trends in the labor market and the knowledge and skills that employers expect from future employees. The trainings helped the participants to understand the possibilities of the EU Erasmus + grant program in the field of international academic mobility, to learn about the possibilities of volunteer work in the EU, as well as to develop soft skills, such as communication skills, cooperation, self-presentation and job search.
More than 300 participants took part in the EU Career Day in Sumy: students, representatives of public organizations, business, civil servants and active young citizens.
Sumy State University, the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine, as well as local partners NGO “Center for Adult Lifelong Learning”, Sumy City Youth Leisure Center, Sumy Business Support Center, NGO “EUROINITIATIVE” organized the event.
